The meaning of Al-Mubdiʾ Al-Muʿīd is the one who brings (another) into being, but when this bringing into being has no precedent in terms of an act similar to it, it is called an origination. If there is a precedent in terms of an act similar to it, it is called a restoration. God Most High began the creation of people. Then He is (also) the one who restores them; that is to say, He resurrects them. All things first originated from Him and are restored to Him, and by Him all things are originated and by Him they are restored.
