Key Features
Ahmed Moustafa
Born in Egypt, Ahmed Moustafa initially trained in a neoclassical European tradition before rediscovering his Islamic roots and focusing on abstract compositions based on Qur’anic texts. His career included a pivotal migration to London in 1974, where he pursued advanced studies and later established the Fe-Noon Ahmed Moustafa Research Centre. Much of his scholarly work focused on the scientific and geometric principles of Arabic penmanship, culminating in his definitive book, The Cosmic Script, which codifies the laws of Proportioned Script (al Khatt al-Mansub). Throughout the 1990s and beyond, his work gained international acclaim for its unique synthesis of Classical European and Islamic artistic traditions, which he uses to build cultural bridges through his art.
